Canada day celebrations and events in Montreal are mostly taking place in the Old-Port of Montreal. Most of the activities surrounding Canada Day at the site of the Old Port are free, however, many other tourist attractions and recreational activities require a fee and can be enjoyed nearby. 

Among these is the site to Pointe-à-Callière, the archaeological and historic museum of Montreal, the Science Center. There are also many more activities to enjoy: Cruises, Amphi-bus, Riverboats, Bicycle rentals, beach and bicycle paths, etc.

The Public Transit System of the STM is without a doubt the best way to avoid any traffic jams, closest metro stations to the site of the Old Port are Champ-de-Mars and Place-d’Armes
